The Park Vista High School Guidance Department has been named a Recognized ASCA Model Program by the American School Counselor Association. The school received the designation because of its "commitment to delivering a comprehensive, data-driven school counseling program and an exemplary educational environment," according to the School District of Palm Beach County.

Park Vista, 7900 Jog Road, west of Boynton Beach , is the only school in the county, and one of only four schools in the state, to have the designation, the district said.

"We are very proud of our school counselors for their dedication to our students' success," Park Vista High School principal Reginald Myers said in a news release. "We have the data to show their efforts are working, and our students are better for it."

School representatives will be honored at a recognition ceremony at ASCA's annual conference in Los Angeles on July 16.
