Hearse to Ambulance Project

We Bought a Hearse!

and we're going to turn it in to an ambulance

You read right ... a 1997 Cadillac Hearse. Dr. Carl Spirazza, President of the Park Vista Academies Advisory Committee (PVAAC) and his son Chaz, who is in both the Automotive Collision and Automotive Service Academies, led a new project for students in all of the academies to work on. The car was towed to campus and the Auto Service students immediately got tires on it and the engine running. They will continue to replace parts and get in good shape and then the Automotive Collision students will take over to work on repairing the body, windows, and give it a good paint job.

The Multimedia Communications Academy students are in on this too! Some have started filming the arrival of the car and the early work on it. They will continue to film periodically and eventually put together a documentary on the project. Digital Design students are currently dreaming up ideas on how the exterior of the car should look. We are thinking of a cool “Ghostbusters” ambulance style that is totally Cobra and with images representing all of the academies. Design students will also work on creating decals and magnets for corporate sponsors who would like to help with donations. Their logos may be placed on the car as well.

We’d love donations and any ideas that you’d like to offer on the transformations to come! We will post progress on our school website www.pvchs.com in the Academies section. If you’d like to be a part of our Advisory Committee send a note to the address below and we’ll get you the times and dates of our meetings.

If you’d like to make a tax deductible donation, please make a check payable to PVCHS and send to:
