FY27 Course Selection
Registration Plan for 2026-2027
Students will begin the process of selecting, being recommended for, and applying for courses for next year in January. Below is our registration plan.
The School Counseling Department will be holding student registration assemblies on:
- Jan 20 – Period 4 – Juniors
- Jan 21 – Period 3 – Sophomores
- Jan 22 – Period 4 - Freshmen
It is imperative that all grade 9, 10, and 11 students attend their assigned assembly time.
Students will be receiving their course selection sheets prior to attending their scheduled grade-level assembly. Students will be instructed to present the course selection sheets to each of their teachers for their recommendations and then take them home to discuss them with their parents and to receive their signatures. The course selection sheets are due back to their period 5 teacher no later than Friday, February 20. At that time, school counselors and data processors will review each student’s sheet and enter the courses into the computer. In April, each student will be given a list with their course requests and will then individually meet with their counselor to finalize their selections for the 2026-2027 school year.
With the extremely large number of students at Park Vista and the sheer number that school counselors have in their student caseloads, personal registration meetings are not being offered through our school counseling office. However, school counselors are available through email and by phone if you have any questions!!!!! If students have any questions, please have them see us before school, during lunch, or after school.
IMPORTANT DATES
- Jan 15 Coffee Talk for parents, 8:00am, Media Center, “The Registration Process”
- This is a perfect time for parents to hear about their child’s 2026-2027 registration.
- Jan 20 Registration Assembly– Period 4 – Juniors
- Jan 21 Registration Assembly - Period 3 – Sophomores
- Jan 22 Registration Assembly - Period 4 - Freshmen
- Jan 22 AP/AICE/Dual Enrollment Showcase, During Lunch - Gym
- It is strongly recommended that students interested in AP, AICE, Dual Enrollment classes for 2026-2027 attend this informative event.
- Jan 22 AP/AICE online applications open. An online link will be sent to all students.
- Jan 29 AP & AICE applications are due ONLINE by midnight. Applications received after the deadline will be placed on a wait list.
- Feb 6 AP & AICE acceptance lists will be posted at 6:00 am online. Students will need to have their course selection sheets signed by AP/AICE teachers. AP/AICE teachers’ room numbers are listed on the course selection sheet.
- Feb 20 ALL COURSE SELECTION SHEETS ARE DUE TO PERIOD 5 TEACHERS.
- Feb 17 Dual Enrollment Assembly for students interested in a Summer B or Fall dual enrollment course will be held at 8:00am in the Aud. Sign up at AP/AICE/Dual Enrollment Day or in the School Counseling Office to attend. Students must have a 3.0 GPA to attend.
- Apr 1-30 Students will meet with their school counselors to finalize 2025-2026 courses.
