Dual Enrollment

*RETURNING DUAL ENROLLMENT STUDENTS* Complete STEP 1 below and then go to STEP 4 and follow the directions.

STEP 1: Meet with your School Counselor to receive the Dual Enrollment or Early Admission Agreement. Return the signed form to your counselor.

STEP 2: Complete the Palm Beach State College " APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION" online at www.palmbeachstate.edu. Dual enrollment students are not required to provide documentation of Florida residency nor are they required to fill out the residency affidavit, however, students must apply as either a Florida or non-Florida resident.

STEP 3: Once you have completed the online application, you will receive an email with your Panther Web Student ID# and Pin#. You should then complete the Online Dual Enrollment Orientation: https://www.palmbeachstate.edu/dualenroll/orientation.aspx. Once the video is completed, students and their parent/legal guardian must print, sign, scan, and email the Dual Enrollment Agreement (there is a button linked next to the orientation video). The agreement will be sent to the dual enrollment inbox at [email protected]. The subject line must have the students name, PBSC ID number, and Term. (For example: "James Smith, J13726617, Summer or Fall 2022") Keep in mind, this will only be for students who are new to the program and have completed an application.

STEP 4: Choose your class(es) on the Palm Beach State College website at www.palmbeachstate.edu. Make sure that you choose the class(es) that you are qualified to take according to your test scores and the prerequisites for the course. Park Vista recommends registering for a course after 3:15 p.m. Mondays - Fridays during the regular school year. There will be times that the bell schedule will be adjusted at PVCHS and you may not be dismissed at your regular time if you have periods off for dual enrollment, virtual classes off campus, and our junior/senior privileges. There are no time restrictions during the summer session for dual enrollment. NOTE: If you would like a personal course advising appointment at PBSC, please call 561-868-3036. Let them know that you are a dual enrollment student wanting to set up an advising appointment.

STEP 5: Complete the Dual Enrollment Authorization Form, which can be found at https://www.palmbeachstate.edu/dualenroll/documents/Dual_Enrollment_Authorization_2.pdf. The form can be electronically signed and sent to your counselor. Your counselor will complete the form and any additional materials that must be attached and will email them back to you.

Students new to the Dual Enrollment program need their Dual Enrollment Authorization Form, GPA verification, applicable ACT, PERT, SAT and/or PSAT scores and applicable AP, AICE and/or IB scores. Questions regarding PERT availability can be addressed to [email protected]. All students doing Dual Enrollment for the first time must have college ready scores on ALL sections of testing.

STEP 6: Once you receive your completed paperwork from your counselor, it will be your responsibility to submit your documents to PBSC for processing. Students will upload their forms via https://www.palmbeachstate.edu/dualenroll/ (Click on: SUBMIT SUMMER OR FALL 2022 AUTHORIZATION REQUEST). (This link can also be found on the PBSC Dual Enrollment web page.) Once processed, students will receive a notification to their PBSC student email account (not personal).

STEP 7: Once you have completed the previous steps, you may go online to secure your class and print your schedule. Please print a copy of your schedule and give it to Mrs. Williams in the School Counseling office or you can email a copy of your schedule to Mrs. Williams at [email protected]. This confirms you have registered for the course and it is needed for STEP 8.

STEP 8: To order your textbooks, please see the Summer and Fall 2022 Dual Enrollment/Early Admission Book Voucher Directions.

STEP 9: When you have completed your dual enrollment course (after you take your final exam), you must return your materials to the nearest Booksmart location (Boca Raton or Lake Worth). Then, scan the receipt to Mrs. Williams at [email protected] to ensure you are removed from the obligation list.
